Advancing Anti-SLAPP Measures in Armenia

This project documents and analyzes Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs) filed in Armenia against environmental defenders, journalists, and civic activists. It aims to raise awareness of judicial harassment, strengthen legal protection mechanisms, and promote freedom of expression. As part of the project, a national SLAPP Report and Cases Database were developed, along with video testimonies from defenders who have faced SLAPP lawsuits. All materials are available below for public access and download. The project was implemented by Green Armenia Environmental Educational NGO in cooperation with the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights, with financial support from the Swedish Institute. The project’s initial stage was supported by the American Bar Association (ABA) Center for Human Rights.
